Kristin is a licensed occupational therapist (OTR/L). She began her career in adult rehabilitation, first at a subacute rehab facility in Harlem and then at a nursing home in Rockleigh, New Jersey, helping adults rebuild the everyday skills they needed to get back to their lives.
How SMPLY started.
The part of the work Kristin loved most was the simplest: sitting with one person, hands-on, fully focused on what they needed that day. She wanted a practice built entirely around that kind of direct care, without rushing from one patient to the next.
She also saw a gap close to home. Families and adults in North Jersey who wanted occupational therapy where they actually live had very few options.
Then life changed. As Kristin started her own family, she wanted work that fit around it, and a practice that delivered care the way she believed it should be delivered. SMPLY grew out of all three: one-on-one occupational therapy, in your home, booked directly by the people who need it.
At home with three of her own.
Kristin is a mother of three. As her children grew, she made a point of bringing occupational therapy into their everyday routines at home: the play, the mealtimes, and the small daily tasks where development really happens. It's the same approach she brings to every family she works with, because the best place to practice life is at home.
Why therapy at home.
Skills stick best where they're used. Working in your home means sessions are built around your real routines, furniture, and space, whether that's a child practicing at the kitchen table or an adult getting dressed and around the house more independently.
Parents and caregivers are part of the process, so the progress made in a session carries over to the rest of the week.
Why private pay.
SMPLY is a private-pay practice. That means no insurer deciding how many visits you get, and no waiting on authorizations before care can start. You book directly, and after each visit you receive a superbill you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement.
Beyond therapy sessions.
Kristin also brings an occupational therapist's eye to ergonomics, assessing home offices and workplace workstations and recommending practical changes that reduce strain.
